Writer: Jamie ChanJamie Chan

The 2025 Philadelphia Flower Show, hosted by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), celebrated its 196th year from March 1-9 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. As the nation’s largest and longest-running horticultural event, PHS continues to be a driving force in the U.S. gardening community, promoting sustainability, urban greening, and environmental education. This year’s theme, "Gardens of Tomorrow," invited attendees to explore innovative designs and forward-thinking gardening practices, showcasing everything from low-maintenance moss art to sustainable lavender products.

Planet Bee Foundation was honored to take part in this incredible event, engaging with over 2,250 attendees through a variety of interactive experiences. In our Family and All-Ages Programming, including Family Frolic and Kids’ Cocoon, we served more than 2,050 visitors, offering hands-on activities like seed ball making—a simple yet impactful way to support native pollinators by helping people plant wildflowers that provide essential food and habitat for bees.

Melissa Marazas, Education Manager, & Jamie Chan, Executive Director, presented "Creating Sustainable Habitats and Gardening for Native Bees" on the Know to Grow stage. They engaged 200 attendees, emphasizing pollinator-friendly gardening and how individuals can make an impact.

Throughout the show, Planet Bee engaged with attendees of all ages, emphasizing the crucial role pollinators play in healthy ecosystems and empowering individuals to take action. We want to thank our loyal team of volunteer educators, who worked to engage the general public and spread the mission of Planet Bee Foundation to inspire the green leaders of tomorrow! As PHS continues its mission of bringing people together through gardening, the Flower Show remains a powerful platform for education, innovation, and environmental stewardship. We look forward to returning for 2026!
