ENVIRONMENTAL STEM PROGRAMS

Our STEM programs are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), available both synchronously and asynchronously, and focus on the importance of bees to ecosystems and the food supply. This learning promotes environmental awareness, leadership using scientific and engineering knowledge, and care for the environment.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL STEM PROGRAMS ARE STANDARDS-ALIGNED

Developed by Experts

Compliant with Common Core requirements

Tailored to specific grade levels

Enhanced with interactive technology

Aligned with Next Generation Science Standards

Provide an unforgettable "field trip" experience!

Our STEM programs are:

Teachers can access professional development workshops, online STEM sessions, videos, lesson plans, additional materials, and educational kits. We also offer Native Bee Community Science Projects, creating pathways for hands-on conservation.

This program is free for schools and nonprofits, thanks to the support of our donors. It supports our goal of making environmental education accessible and inclusive."

In our commitment to social justice, lessons are provided at NO COST thanks to our generous donors and grantmakers.

ASYNCHRONOUS STEM LESSONS

Register for our engaging asynchronous STEM lesson series exploring the world of bees! From younger learners to more advanced students, delve into the importance of bees, honey bee anatomy and behavior, and the significance of native bees and pollination methods. Our Digital Resources include videos, teacher guides, activities, and games designed to deepen understanding of bees' essential roles and environmental significance.

Discover our garden and agriculture-inspired program, featuring 5 Asynchronous Digital STEM Toolkit Units and a nationwide educational materials grants for schools. Dive into engaging presentations, writing prompts, STEAM activities, videos, and hands-on experiments designed to cultivate sustainability in classrooms and beyond, with new units released in Summer of 2024

Join the Community Science movement with Planet Bee! No lab coat is required – just curiosity and enthusiasm. By participating, students become crucial contributors to conserving pollinators. Build and register native bee nests, input observations into a shared database, and connect with fellow community scientists. Together, let's explore and protect our planet's biodiversity!

SYNCHRONOUS STEM LESSONS

Explore the world of bees with interactive STEM lessons delivered via Zoom by a Planet Bee teacher. Learn about the science behind how bees live and thrive, including their structure, behavior, and role in the environment. These lessons cover bee biology, geometry related to bee survival strategies, adaptations, evolution, and how bees communicate.

SYNCHRONOUS STEM LESSONS

BEE AN ENGINEER! - What does nature have to teach us about marvelous feats of engineering? Learn more about the engineering design process to unlock your own potential as a creator!

BEE A SCIENTIST! - Students will observe insects, record their findings, describe what they see, and compare data. Learn about citizen and community science to help the world (especially bees!) around us!

BEE-OMETRY - Students learn geometry fundamentals like shape, size, dimension, and more in this bee-themed STEM Lesson that goes bee-yond the hexagon.

THE WAGGLE DANCE - This social-emotional learning lesson dances into the importance and science of communication among bees and other creatures.

ADAPTA-BEE-LITY - Explore the wide variety of adaptations that different native bees use to survive in their natural habitats around the world from deserts to rainforests.

Explore Planet Bee's workshops for teachers on Ecology, Conservation, and Engineering. Our online sessions help teachers engage students with hands-on science using recycled materials, community science projects, engineering integration, and building bee nest houses. Inspire environmental stewardship and leadership in your classroom!
